1986 Silver Coin: Lady Liberty. Witness to Immigration
In 1986. in honor of the Statue of Liberty. the United States issued a special edition silver coin. This silver coin was crafted by the San Francisco Mint. with a face value of $1. weighing 26.73 grams. and a .900 color. Also. to meet the patriotic needs of the greatest number of people. the mintage was over 7 million coins. of which more than 700.000 were struck by the Philadelphia mint in the Frosted Plain process. and 6.4 million were struck by the San Francisco mint in the Mirror Finish process.
The silver coins are not only a tribute to the Statue of Liberty. but also to the history of immigration to the United States. Each silver coin carries a touching story and bears witness to the courage and determination of countless people who have pursued their dreams. Whether as a collector’s item or a historical reminder. this silver coin is of immeasurable value.

The base of the Statue of Liberty is engraved with one of the most popular poems by the American poet Emma Nasarocchi. Nasha Luoqi’s a popular poem: Give me. your tired and poor huddled together yearning to breathe free of the masses. your hustle and bustle on the shore of the abandoned poor crowd. your homeless and stormy people. Give it to me all together. as I stand at the golden gate. holding aloft the lamp of freedom.
